WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. -- Nexsan Technologies, the leader in innovative storage solutions, today announced that its SATABeast enterprise-class storage array and Exanet’s Exastore - ICM™ have been jointly tested and qualified, offering enterprise customers ultimate performance, infinite scalability and simplified management in a unified cost-correct NAS solution. With the announcement, Exanet becomes the latest member of Nexsan’s Strategic Solutions (S2) Program.

ExaStore – ICM (Intelligent Cluster Management) delivers a unique and unbeatable enterprise-class storage solution, with the industry’s most feature rich management tools and open storage nature versus competitive and limited proprietary solutions. SATABeast delivers the highest performance and utmost cost effectiveness in a single, scalable solution ideal for data-intense storage applications. An extreme density design – 21 terabytes of storage capacity in just 4U of rack space – provides a compact footprint and can scale to 210 cost-correct terabytes of capacity in a single rack. The SATABeast’s unique design extends individual drive life and provides significant savings year over year, while its AutoMAID™ (Massive Array of Idle Disks) function allows SATABeast to place its disk drives to an idle state to conserve energy yet provide near-instantaneous access to data.

ExaStore - ICM offers automated storage management that simplifies system operation and maintenance, and dramatically drives down the total cost of ownership of enterprise NAS. The system’s new virtual volume capability allows dynamic expansion or reallocation of storage capacity according to changing business needs, and provides an additional level of control and flexibility for capacity management and provisioning. Additionally, ExaStore’s unique single file system and single storage pool ensure maximum utilization of disk space. Its performance-optimized architecture, together with its use of standard, off-the-shelf hardware, provides best-of-breed solutions for any application or budget, resulting in the best price/performance recorded by a NAS vendor.

“We are pleased to be partnering with Exanet to bring highly scalable, maximum-performance, yet cost-effective NAS solutions to enterprise customers around the world,” said Brendan Kinkade, Vice President of Marketing at Nexsan. “By qualifying the SATABeast with Exanet’s ExaStore - ICM, we are showing our commitment to providing open access to integrated storage architectures that meet the needs of the most demanding enterprise users.”
