QLogic 10GbE converged network adapters certified for VMware ESX

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leading supplier of high performance network infrastructure solutions, today announced that its 8000 Series 10GbE Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) converged network adapters (CNAs) are now certified for VMware ESX, enabling customers to consolidate data and storage networking into a single adapter.

LAS VEGAS -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leading supplier of high performance network infrastructure solutions, today announced that Sun Microsystems is now offering Sun-branded 8Gb Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs), based on QLogic(r) technology. Available to customers as Sun StorageTek single and dual-port 8Gb Fibre Channel adapters, these innovative products double the performance of previous generation Fibre Channel adapters in Windows, Linux and Solaris OS environments, reduce disk-to-disk replication times, and significantly shorten data backups at low power levels.

LAS VEGAS -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leading supplier of high performance network infrastructure solutions and the first company to ship Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) converged network adapters (CNAs), is demonstrating at VMworld 2008 the live migration of virtual machines running on the commercially available QLogic 8000 Series adapters in VMware ESX virtualized environments. Using VMware management utilities, QLogic will showcase the migration of virtual machines across FCoE and Fibre Channel hosts, and data files across storage arrays without service disruption. Data centers can now leverage QLogic 8000 Series FCoE adapters to achieve server, network and storage consolidation with end-to-end interoperability.
