LAS VEGAS -- Rorke Data, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Microproducts Inc. and a storage technology leader in the post production industry, today announced an OEM partnership with Primera Technology, Inc. The partnership was formed to deliver a low-cost, high-performance line of Blu-ray and DVD publishing and duplication appliances that ship complete with integrated server components and high capacity storage options including RAID and additional PCI card options to support a range of professional content creation and archival applications.

By integrating these high-end server/storage components in a single platform, Rorke Data can deliver media publishing and duplication appliances designed to simultaneously automate media production and host the content creation, distribution and archive applications that drive these devices. The integrated design also allows Rorke Data to provide a range of proactive service and support options.

Rorke Data has developed a unique, cost-effective hardware platform that integrates Primera’s industry leading Bravo XRP and XRN disc publishing robotics with robust server components and high-capacity storage options,” noted Joe Rorke, vice president of marketing at Rorke Data. ”It is an efficient, modular hardware design. Many content-related applications such as DVD and Blu-ray authoring or content archiving require high-end storage and more robust server hardware. In contrast, single instance DVD production may only require minimal storage or server overhead. The new modular design allows us to tailor the system in a single, easy to service enclosure.”
