SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Pillar Data Systems, the leading provider of Application-Aware storage systems, today announced that ScripNet selected the Pillar Axiom storage system as the platform to effectively manage its business data and key applications in its production environment. As a company on the forefront of technology, growing 20 percent on average year over year, ScripNet needed a solution that would help streamline and manage its storage environment. The company turned to Pillar because of its Quality of Service (QoS) functionality, which matches storage service levels with the varying requirements of business applications, the cornerstone of Application-Aware Storage™.

A nationwide pharmacy benefit manager that works with large healthcare and government organizations, ScripNet manages approximately 30,000 prescriptions per month. The company needed a reliable system that was able to deliver high levels of performance and availability. ScripNet deployed a Pillar Axiom 300 in its physical and virtual server environments to help better manage and store information within its Oracle database.

“ScripNet is revolutionizing the pharmaceutical industry as one of the first to move to a paper-less system. Pharmacies can now bill ScripNet electronically, saving time and money, and most importantly, helping injured workers get their prescriptions quickly,” said Bob Maness, vice president of worldwide marketing, Pillar Data Systems. “We are very pleased ScripNet chose Pillar to ensure that its records are easily accessible, especially as the company is enjoying such high growth rates.”
