Sun Microsystems and Fujitsu expand SPARC enterprise server line with first systems based on the UltraSPARC T2 processor

LAS VEGAS -- Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:JAVA) and Fujitsu Limited (TOKYO:6702) today expanded the Sun and Fujitsu SPARC(R) Enterprise server line with the introduction of the SPARC Enterprise T5120 and T5220 servers the first servers using the new UltraSPARC(R) T2 processor. The new SPARC Enterprise servers run the Solaris(TM) Operating System (OS) and are ideal platforms for customers needing to achieve increased scale, density and performance, particularly in the web and application tiers and for online transaction processing (OLTP) and technical workloads. Built-in, no-cost virtualization capabilities in the servers also enable IT staff to easily maximize system utilization, helping to lower the cost of delivering new IT services.
