Sybase Releases New Replication Software

Sybase Inc. is offering a new release of its Replication Server software for synchronizing data across heterogeneous databases. It lets administrators set up multiple database standby sites to protect against database downtime during power failures and other emergencies. It also offers enhanced support for symmetric multiprocessing servers and new self-management capabilities. Replication Server 12.6 will be available Dec. 23 starting at $25,000 per CPU or $3,000 per server and $450 per seat.
