Tech CEOs Play Presidential Politics

To remain a globally competitive powerhouse, the United States needs policies that embrace openness in trade and talent, promote innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, and build on the country's information infrastructure, according to a recent report released by a council of top U.S. technology executives.

The "Great Nation" report by advocacy group Technology CEO Council aims to shape the thinking and policies of U.S. presidential candidates as the country prepares for next year's election. The Technology CEO Council also urges the U.S. to embrace policies and programs that encourage more people to enter science, technology engineering and mathematical fields; push patent reform and R&D tax credits that promote innovation; and continue to promote the nation's information infrastructure to ensure that the country is progressing with "cutting-edge" advancements in telecommunications, health care and energy.
