What do we consider appropriate for this review?

We will consider products offering Web Services Management functionality. This requires that the product provide logging and audit trails, SLA (service level agreement) features, reporting functionality, request routing, and alerts and notifications.

We will be judging products based on the following criteria:

  • Performance (based on zero-failure tolerance levels)

    • Messages per second

    • Total throughput

    • Response time

  • Management/Configuration

    • Skill sets required

    • Delegation capabilities

    • Deployment requirements

  • Web Services Management Features

    • SLA

    • Alerts/Notifications

    • Logging/Audit trails

    • SOAP specific features (endpoint obfuscation, WSDL aggregation, attachments, transformation capabilities, etc.)

    • Security Features (WSSE support, schema validation, etc.)

    • Exception and fault management

    • Transport protocols (HTTP, FTP, etc.)

  • Standards Support

    • Interoperability with .Net and J2EE

    • SOAP 1.1

    • WSDL 1.0

    • UDDI / WSIL

  • Price

    • Price will be evaluated on the basis of features provided and judged comparatively

Product Requirements
To be considered for participation in this review, the products must support the following:

  • SOAP 1.1

  • WSDL 1.0

  • SLA

  • Logging and auditing trails

  • Request routing

  • Schema validation
