WALTHAM, Mass. -- xkoto, the database virtualization company, today announced it has been named one of the top ten technology startups for 2008 by readers of InformationWeek. xkoto finished third in the balloting, and as a result will present at the 20th annual InformationWeek 500 Conference, September 14-16 in Monarch Beach, California.

More than 1,000 votes were cast by InformationWeek readers in its first contest to select the startup of the year. The top six startups in the online balloting will be graded by a panel of CIO judges at the InformationWeek 500 Conference. Each company will be judged on its business model, products and feasibility.
