AT&T Offers Managed Web Security Service

Capabilities including Web content filtering and real-time scanning for malware and spyware.

AT&T said today it has begun offering a network-based security service that helps monitor Web content and messaging traffic, scanning and screening for viruses, spyware and other malware.

AT&T Web Security, available now, delivers these capabilities and more as a network-based managed service, letting enterprises deploy and upgrade security capabilities without owning and running the applications or underlying hardware/software.AT&T Web Security monitors all nonencrypted Web traffic, including HTTP requests, and replies to HTTP requests and IM traffic. It operates independently or with other AT&T managed-security offerings.

The service's key features include monitoring and reporting of Web traffic at the network level; near-real-time scanning of requested Web sites and files; IM-filtering capabilities with archived storage; and a Web-based portal for administration and reporting.
