British telecom operator BT said Thursday it has launched a new way of billing enterprises for hotspot use bye employees that it says should encourage adoption.

The new plan enables enterprises with 20 or more employees to receive a single aggregated bill for hotspot usage by all employees, the company said. Under this plan, usage is charged by the minute, starting at 18 pence per minute with volume discounts down to 8 pence per minute.

While enterprises receive a single bill for the access, the bill itemizes use by individual employees, according to BT. The company claimed in a statement that the simplified billing procedure should encourage enterprises to use its network of 7000 hotspots. In addition, enterprises can still use monthly per-user subscriptions, which start at 25 pounds for up to 4,000 minutes.
