EMC Appoints Russia GM

EMC announced that Igor Agamirzian has joined EMC in the newly created role of General Manager, EMC Software Development in Russia

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia -- EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC - News), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that Igor Agamirzian has joined EMC in the newly created role of General Manager, EMC Software Development in Russia. Igor, an 11-year veteran of Microsoft and native of Russia, will lead EMC's research & software development activities in Russia (see today's related release), reporting to Sanjay Mirchandani, EMC's Senior Vice President of Emerging Markets & International Development.

Mirchandani said, "I am extremely pleased to have an executive with Igor's caliber and experience as part of our team. Russia is a strategic, growing market for EMC and our long-term success requires a significant investment in its talented pool of technology engineers and growing our software development activities here. Igor is uniquely qualified to help us do that."

EMC also announced plans to invest $100 million in Russia over the next four years, underscoring EMC's deepened commitment to the rapidly growing Russian marketplace.
