Organizations may be spending 20 percent more than necessary on communication simply because they don't have a good handle on their telecommunication assets. To tackle this problem, Digital Fairway's new Provergent suite offers four applications to manage communications services: Circuit Manager, Mobile Manager, Equipment Manager and Telephony Manager. The suite targets large enterprises still using spreadsheets to inventory all the components of a communications infrastructure. Provergent sets itself apart by allowing for extensive user interaction with the management system. For example, Mobile Manager lets IT define the assets an employee has access to by role and title. Then, based on those rules, the employee can use a self-care module to request the provisioning of allowed assets, such as a BlackBerry device, mobile phone and so on.
