MONTREAL(BUSINESS WIRE) Radio IP Software, Inc., a leading developer of advanced mobile Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions, announced today the new release of its ipUnplugged mobile VPN solution for business-critical communications. The new version adds several enhancements including support for PDA on Mobile Windows, FIPS 140-2 compliance, validated AES 256 encryption, and simplified user and license management. Leveraging these enhancements, ipUnplugged was thoroughly tested by Celestica, a global leader in the delivery of end-to-end product lifecycle solutions, and achieved Vendor Application Validation of a leading Canadian Service Provider for its laptop and PDA support capabilities. Furthermore, ipUnplugged also achieved Networthiness status from the Communication Electronic Command (CECOM) and is now included in the US Army's catalogue of authorized solutions.

Unlike many VPN products where the mobile user must enable the VPN when connecting remotely, ipUnplugged is always-on. Leveraging the Mobile IP standard, ipUnplugged's built-in location awareness ensures the mobile VPN automatically connects whenever a network connection is available. Furthermore, to ensure optimized performance, ipUnplugged also transparently analyses connections and disables encryption when users connect via a secure network.

New in this release:
    * FIPS 140-2 Encryption: FIPS 140-2 validated AES modules encrypt all data transmitted between the ipUnplugged client and server, ensuring the highest level of encrypted data transmission in the industry, and achieving Networthiness certification as required by the Communication Electronic Command (CECOM) of the US Army.
    * PDA Windows Mobile Support: ipUnplugged now supports all devices using Windows Mobile Operating System.

"We are all aware of the growing mobility of workforces in the corporate world," said Patrick Tabourin, Vice-President of Marketing and Product Management at Radio IP Software. "This new release offers our customers compelling benefits including the support for additional PDA platforms, and improved security and management features -- all with the goal of improving mobile workers' productivity."
