Sonasoft Inc. on Wednesday launched a data-protection management console for Microsoft Windows File Systems.

SonaSafe Point-Click Recovery is designed to automate the backup and recovery process for Windows servers in a single or multi-server environment, officials with the San Jose, Calif., company said. SonaSafe provides protection through an image-level backup, and enables rapid recovery of files to the point of failure.

In addition, users can go back to a point-in-time and recover data, the company said.

"With the release of SonaSafe Point-Click Recovery for File Systems, we will be offering a total solution for anything to do with Microsoft: databases, emails, files, etc.," Andy Khanna, president and chief executive of Sonasoft, said.

SonaSafe Point-Click Recovery, which is currently available, works with file systems in Windows NT, 2000, 2003 and XP.
