SAN FRANCISCO -- GuardianEdge today introduced the next generation of endpoint data protection for the enterprise. The company has extended the widely adopted GuardianEdge Data Protection Platform with new releases of the GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption and GuardianEdge Removable Storage Encryption products to address the data protection concerns of organizations of all sizes. These offerings reinforce GuardianEdge's decade-long commitment to the secure portability of information. Regardless of where workers are located, be it in the headquarters office or based remotely, these new releases provide the strongest endpoint data protection measures available.

The new GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption and GuardianEdge Removable Storage Encryption products provide single console management for Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory and all other non-domain machines as well as complete removable storage functionality. GuardianEdge has long recognized the importance of management and was the first to natively integrate with Active Directory. Support for Novell eDirectory and non-domain machines is being introduced in response to the needs of enterprises whose employees work from home with either a full or part-time connection to the network or in instances where contractors bring PCs not registered with the organization's domain. Other important new features include: enhanced reporting and auditing capabilities, broader authentication support and superior usability functionality.

"In selecting a hard disk encryption solution, integration with Microsoft Active Directory was extremely important to us. However, like many other organizations our size, we are facing an increasing number of telecommuters and the frequent transfer of faculty and staff between offices," said Brenda Gombosky, director of Enterprise Security, University of Louisville. "The ability to easily leverage the administrative strengths of Active Directory integration, while extending data protection to all of the machines in our environment, including those not registered within our domain, are top priorities for our organization. GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption clearly provides an easy way to address those needs."
