H3C Selects Blue Coat

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BCSI), a leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that H3C Technologies (H3C), a leading Chinese IP network products and solution provider, has selected Blue Coat ProxySG® appliances to manage its Internet bandwidth consumption, regulate online behavior by its staff, secure critical corporate information and accelerate Internet content and applications.

Hangzhou-based H3C employs more than 5,000 people worldwide, including staff in 34 provinces and cities across China, and overseas operations in Japan, USA, South Africa, Korea, Thailand, Russia and India. More than 51 percent of staff work in research and development.

The comprehensive Blue Coat solution, including Blue Coat ProxySG appliances and the Blue Coat WebFilter product, gives H3C full control and management of its employees’ online behavior, protecting them from spyware, phishing and malicious threats, enforcing company policies for Web usage, controlling Peer-to-Peer (P2P), streaming media and Instant Messaging (IM) applications, and allocating bandwidth based upon types of downloaded files. The Blue Coat appliances can apply rules with granularity, based on the specific user, application and other types of conditions.
