CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Division (AIS) of Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD) today continued to expand its data backup and disaster recovery solutions offering by announcing distribution agreements with Breece Hill and Double-Take Software. These latest additions further broaden AIS support for specialized, high-end data protection solutions, which will become a key component of the division’s Infrastructure Management Solutions (IMS) VAR enablement program.

“AIS is strategically assembling the channel’s broadest and most comprehensive array of data center solutions based on industry-standard technologies,” said Senior Vice President and General Manager, AIS, Pete Peterson. “As we continue to expand our solutions offering, we are equally focused on helping VARs profitably deploy the latest data center technologies and high-end applications critical to today’s businesses. That’s accomplished through the IMS arm of the division, which is dedicated to enabling VARs through training, business partner and peer engagement, and advice from industry experts.”

Since AIS was established earlier this year, it has already hosted several IMS events during which VARs were introduced to advanced data center solutions, including server virtualization, server and storage consolidation, and enterprise-class security and threat management. Breece Hill, Double-Take Software and other recently added business partners, including data backup solutions developer BakBone and virtual tape library and de-duplication software provider SEPATON, Inc., will have the opportunity to participate in future IMS events to provide VARs with insight into developing data protection solutions.

Comprehensive Data Protection Solutions

Through specialized sales and technical support, AIS assists VARs developing solutions that protect business-critical data such as CRM and ERP databases. In case of natural disaster, local systems outage or other disruption, these business continuity solutions can trigger automatic failover capabilities providing access to designated backup servers and storage devices, which minimizes downtime and potential business disruption. For use in both physical and virtual data center environments, these solutions also enable users to centrally manage all network-attached storage devices in remote locations or satellite offices to maximize storage capacity and data availability.AIS distributes disk-to-disk-to-tape appliances, tape automation solutions and a full line of magneto-optical media and drives from Breece Hill. It also offers real-time data replication solutions for Exchange, SQL, Oracle, Sharepoint, Web and other application servers from Double-Take Software. Earlier this month, Tech Data announced it will distribute the BakBone NetVault®: Backup StoreVault Edition, specifically developed to leverage and support the NetApp® StoreVault™ S500 storage array. AIS also is the channel’s exclusive source for the DS2 series of virtual tape libraries from SEPATON.

“Comprehensive data protection and backup solutions that align with a business’ strategic needs are a key component of today’s corporate IT infrastructure,” said Dan Jones, vice president of sales and marketing, Double-Take Software. “We’re working with Tech Data’s AIS Division to ensure VARs have the service, sales and technical support they can leverage to successfully deploy these solutions nationwide.”
