Trend Micro this week took the wraps off new versions of its messaging security wares--InterScan Messaging Security Suite and the InterScan Messaging Security Appliance--both of which integrate antispam and antiphishing capabilities with antivirus and anti-spyware protection.

The company also launched InterScan Messaging Hosted Security, a managed messaging security service for enterprise clients. The vendor says these products are key elements of a multilayered messaging security strategy essential to companies that want comprehensive protection from Internet-borne threats.

The new InterScan Messaging Security rollouts apply a number of techniques, including two patent-pending technologies, customer-specific reputation services and image-spam detections, to help businesses defend against an evolving list of threats. The products also apply predictive capabilities, such as zero-day protection, advanced heuristics and behavior analysis, to safeguard companies from highly focused attacks. Trend Micro's line also offers content filtering to prevent data loss and aid companies trying to comply with internal governance requirements and external regulations. The solutions can be centrally managed.

The InterScan Messaging Security Suite is priced from $15.88 per user for 2,000 or more users. The InterScan Messaging Security gateway starts at $20,815. Both will be available in the second quarter. The InterScan Messaging Hosted Security service, which will launch in April of this year, starts at $13.50 per user.
