The WLAN market is set to grow at an annual rate of 30% per year to nearly $5 billion by 2006, and will drive significant growth in the WLAN security market, according to the new report "Wireless LAN Security --- An Industry Outlook" by Research and Markets.

WLAN equipment sales have grown 60% from last year, the report concludes. WLAN sales to the enterprise are expected to grow by 63% over the year, and sales to the home and small office will potentially grow by 103%, it adds.

This growth will fuel the WLAN security market, according to the report, which concludes that worldwide revenue for WLAN security will grow from $41.1 million in 2002 to $278.7 million in 2009. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for revenues is projected to be 31.5 per cent.
