CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: HILL), a world-class provider of entry-level and midrange storage innovations for OEMs and system integrators (SIs), today announced that its 5730, 2330, 2730 and 2730T RAID arrays have been certified for use with VMware ESX 3.5.

Passing the extensive testing of the VMware Hardware Certification Program assures customers that Dot Hill RAID systems are ready for deployment in VMware environments. By sharing resources across a virtual environment, VMware ESX allows enterprises to dramatically reduce hardware and operating costs.

“Virtualization gives companies the ability to further consolidate their IT investments,” said Cooper Cowart, Dot Hill’s vice president of marketing. “By pooling physical storage resources such as Dot Hill storage arrays into storage area networks, and sharing hardware across a large number of ‘virtual machines’ on the same server with VMware ESX 3.5, enterprises can make the absolute most of their IT budgets.”
