WALTHAM, Mass. -- Incipient, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-class storage virtualization and data migration software, today announced its flagship software product, Incipient Network Storage Platform (iNSP™), has successfully completed interoperability testing with select IBM TotalStorage based solutions and has become a certified member of the IBM System Storage Proven™ solution program. The IBM System Storage Proven program builds on IBM's already extensive interoperability efforts to develop and deliver products and solutions that work together with third party products. This class of qualification ensures interoperability for companies planning to deploy iNSP software in their IBM TotalStorage based storage area network (SAN) environment. iNSP software successfully completed testing with the IBM DS4000/6000/8000 and IBM ESS storage array families.

The iNSP software suite is the only enterprise-class storage virtualization solution for SAN environments on the market today. iNSP software delivers a suite of storage services for large enterprise SAN environments such as non-disruptive data migration, automated storage provisioning and point-in-time copy services.

iNSP software runs natively on the Cisco MDS 9000 Storage Services Modules (SSMs) that are designed to work with intelligent fabric applications. iNSP does not require any external appliances or servers and works with any Cisco MDS 9500 Director or 9200 fabric switch. This provides investment protection for Cisco MDS customers as well as rapid access to storage services based applications.

"IBM certification of iNSP software extends our storage array interoperability reach furthering our commitment to provide the market a true heterogeneous enterprise-class storage virtualization solution." said Robert Infantino, senior vice president of Marketing and Alliances of Incipient, Inc. "We look forward to working with IBM customers to help them deploy iNSP software and set up their SAN infrastructures to offer storage as a service to their respective business units."
