EMC has qualified QLogic SANbox Fibre Channel switches as EMC E-Lab Tested for use with EMC CLARiiON and EMC Symmetrix

(NasdaqGS:QLGC - News), the leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs), stackable switches and blade server switches, today announced that EMC Corp. has qualified 10Gb powered QLogic(r) SANbox(r) Fibre Channel switches as EMC(r) E-Lab(tm) Tested for use with EMC CLARiiON(r) and EMC Symmetrix(r) DMX networked storage systems. With E-Lab qualification of the QLogic 10Gb backbone between SANbox 9000 Series core switches and SANbox 5000 Series stackable switches, EMC customers can now deploy highly scalable, high performance, core-to-edge storage networks from QLogic. The highly comprehensive E-Lab qualification process tests configurations that replicate real-world environments to help ensure customer satisfaction. EMC has tested the abilities of the SANbox Fibre Channel Switch portfolio and qualified the 10Gb backbone capability of these products,” said Jesse Parker, vice president and general manager, QLogic Network Solutions Group. “Enterprise customers can choose how and when they scale their storage network solutions without performance or cost tradeoffs.
