Cisco Systems' Linksys division launched Wednesday a series of Gigabit and Fast Ethernet switches that feature WebView monitoring tools that permit administrators to control their networks remotely.

The new devices aim to provide small businesses with an inexpensive way to migrate networks from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit. The rackmount switches start at about $9 a port, Cisco said.

The product family is divided into three segments of Gigabit Ethernet, Dual Fast Ethernet and Gigabit, and Dual Fast Ethernet and Gigabit with Power-over Ethernet. The switches range from 16 to 48 ports.
