QLogic Adds Switches

QLogic announced that its enterprise class SANbox 9000 Series Fibre Channel director switches are now available from Hitachi Data Systems

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- QLogic Corp.(Nasdaq:QLGC), the leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs),stackable switches and blade server switches, today announced that itsenterprise class SANbox(r) 9000 Series Fibre Channel director switchesare now available from Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiaryof Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE:HIT), and authorized Hitachi Data Systemsresellers. The SANbox 9000 Series is a new class of director switchthat takes less rack space, power and cooling than any other directorswitch available today, all at a fraction of the cost.

With the addition of the SANbox 9000 director, which has completedrigorous qualification testing with a suite of Hitachi Data Systemsenterprise and mid-range storage systems, Hitachi Data Systems nowoffers the complete QLogic(r) Fibre Channel switch portfolio whichincludes the SANbox 1400 and 5600 Series.
