The SANbox 6142, qualified asinteroperable with Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage and WorkgroupModular Storage storage systems, provides SAN-over-WAN connectivityinfrastructure in conjunction with Hitachi Data Systems TrueCopy(tm)Remote Replication software to support disaster recovery, replicationand volume copy services over WANs. The combination of the QLogicSANbox 6142 and Hitachi Data Systems TrueCopy software are idealbusiness continuity and disaster recovery solutions which providedistance replication, while maintaining application and data integrity.

The 6142 sets a new price performance benchmark in the industry forSAN-over-WAN connections. Leading applications for the 6142 are volumereplication over the WAN and backup and replication of data forregulatory support. The 6142 features SmartWrite, the QLogicpatent-pending technology for accelerating and bridging SANs over WANs.SmartWrite is the only intelligent SAN-over-WAN protocol to leverageiSCSI Layer 3 routing, making it possible to perform SAN bridging overWANs without having to merge SAN Fabrics. By maintaining SAN Fabricindependence, the 6142 improves SAN scalability and lowers managementoverhead.
