Vonage Offers Cordless VoIP Handset

VoIP provider Vonage has unveiled a cordless telephone that plugs directly into customers’ broadband connections or existing routers, facilitating the setup and usage of the firms' Internet calling service.
Announced Wednesday, the 5.8 Ghz phone is manufactured by Vtech and is configured with Texas Instruments TNETV1060 VoIP chipset. The telephone, the IP-8100-2, is scheduled to be available at more than 8,000 retailers this weekend. It is priced at $149.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate offer available after 60 days of service.
The IP-8100-2 comes with two handsets and is expandable to four handsets. Additional handsets are priced at $49.99.
