Roving Planet this week announced the immediate availability of Roving Planet Business Commander, a WiFi security and management product specifically designed for small businesses that rely on wireless LANs as their primary networks.

Among other features, Business Commander includes:

-Authentication management, which allows small businesses to control who can have access to the network, and which can implement a different authentication type for different users, devices, or applications

-Built-in RADIUS support, incorporating secure 802.1X authentication and key management without needing to purchase additional system components

-Access control that allows small businesses to decide what network resources are available to users once they are assigned access to the network-Guest access controls that provide secure access for site visitors to appropriate resources, without manually re-architecting the network for each new visitor

-Time-based controls allow businesses to quickly change policies for regularly occurring events, after hours operation, or special occasions.

-An audit trail feature that allows businesses to quickly detail wireless network usage with easily customized reporting templates.
