WLAN management vendor Colubris Networks announced Wednesday that it is making software available for its systems that provide for Quality of Service (QoS), which will enable enterprise use of voice-over-WLAN.

The company said that the software will adhere to the Wi-Fi MultiMedia (WMM) specification released recently by the Wi-Fi Alliance. WMM is a subset of the IEEE's still-pending 802.11e QoS standard.

Colubris' Multiservice Wireless LAN System is aimed at large enterprises and service providers. It claimed in a statement that its WMM software add-on supports SIP, H.323 and other media-related applications.

The vendor provided no information about pricing or availability.
