SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- RAID storageexpert Infortrend(r) today unveiled the new 16-bay, 4Gigabit FibreChannel (4G-FC) to SAS RAID arrays: the EonStor(r) (ES) S16F-R1430redundant controller subsystems. Combining the company's powerful newASIC400 engine with high performance 4G-FC transfer speeds and theimproved features of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), these new arraysdeliver the reliability and processing capabilities required for eventhe most demanding data storage environments. The ES S16F supports SASor SATA disk drives so that vendors can design cost- andperformance-effective storage solutions, using high performance SASdrives for mission-critical solutions and cost-effective SATA drivesfor near-line backup environments.

"The ES S16F arrays meet the needs of storage managers and systemintegrators who are looking to boost the performance of their existingstorage systems in applications such as disk farms or imaging stationsthat require RAID protection and vast storage capacity," said Nick Liu,vice president of Infortrend Technology Inc. "The redundant controllermodel is especially designed to meet the demands of 24/7 operations andis the perfect choice for high-bandwidth applications such as highperformance computing, financial transactions, medical imaging, andvideo streaming."
