TIBCO Software this week launched a new SOA effort, dubbed TIBCO One Project, that promises to combine all the elements of a service-oriented architecture in a wide-ranging platform.

Launched at the vendor's user conference, TIBCO One aims to bring together concepts such as SOA, business process management (BPM) and event-driven architecture (EDA) and deliver them in a way that's easy for IT to deploy and administer.

The goal of the project, the vendor said, is a "build-your-own" infrastructure application that ties together existing apps and new code in quick-to-deploy service environments. The first product under the TIBCO One brand is TIBCO Business Studio 2.0, a standards-based modeling environment that provides a single design model for all TIBCO tools. The release is one of the first modeling tools to offer complete support for Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) 1.0, an industry standard for graphically depicting steps in a business process.

Future TIBCO One product releases include a new version of TIBCO ActiveMatrix, a platform for development, deployment, management and governance of SOA applications; and a new release of TIBCO BusinessWorks integration platform. Both are expected in the second half of 2007.
