3D View Windows Client and Desktop Widget "quanp drop" Available Now
CUPERTINO, Calif., June 30, 2009 - Ricoh Company, Ltd., a global leader in digital office solutions, today announced that their new visual online storage service called quanp is expanding its private beta. "Geeks and heavy web users" are encouraged to try out quanp's innovative 3D view Windows client that emphasizes visual search as the most familiar and conducive way to collecting, storing and sharing personal data. A browser version of quanp is also available for Mac users. At the same time, quanp is also introducing a new beta feature already in use in Japan called "quanp drop," an animated widget that sits on the desktop with easy automatic drag-and-drop uploading.
"Online storage is vitally important but hard to do right. It's mostly a boring backup function, and not enough people do it. But it doesn't have to be that way," said Sho Harada, senior manager of quanp. "Imagine collecting all your online data in one spot, being able to dig in and interact with it easily, and sharing what you want with family and friends. Making it fun so you'll actively use it; that's the thinking behind quanp."
quanp launched last year in Japan as a full web service, but Ricoh is now customizing quanp for US consumers, and interested US users can quickly and easily sign up for free beta testing through http://quanp.com/us/landing/ .
