Bluesocket said Tuesday that it has upgraded its BlueSecure Intrusion Protection System for monitoring wireless LANs and protecting against intrusions.
The company said in a statement that the upgrade includes active containment of rogue devices, improved RF spectrum analysis and better reporting that meets U.S. Department of Defense requirements. The company said that the product's client-server architecture now offers improved scalability for larger deployments.
In addition, the upgrade automates auditing of regulatory compliance efforts to help enterprises comply with government regulations such as HIPAA, the company said.
"By providing Wi-Fi administrators with a comprehensive solution to protect and control their airwaves, we now have a portfolio that meets NIST recommendations and helps ensure compliance with HIPAA and DoD wireless directives," Dave Danielson, Bluesocket's vice president of marketing, said in a statement.
The upgraded product is available now. The 802.11 RF sensor costs $695 and the Slue Secure Server starts at $2250, according to the company.
