PerformanceIT has released a Web-based network monitoring solution designed for small and medium sized businesses that includes auto-discovery and auto-configuration, and is accessible from both desktop PCs and wireless PDAs.

The solution, ProIT Express, monitors LANs and WANs of up to 100 devices, and is designed to be deployed in only a few hours. It includes many of the same intelligent network monitoring features found in PerformanceIT's enterprise-level product, ProIT, but includes simpler deployment.

The solution delivers instant updates on routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and other network components. Its auto-discovery and auto-configuration features include capabilities such as an Event-Threshold-Action Intelligent Alarm engine that prevents false positives, Notification Rules engine (including blackout notification), and an Alarm Management Workflow engine with built-in diagnostic, remote access, and repair tools.

It allows network administrators to easily perform automatic event correlation, consolidation, and root cause analysis, covering any or all network devices. Built-in reports, trend analysis, and diagnostic utilities allow for quick investigation of problems, while the built-in knowledgebase also provides instant reference information.

"For those organizations who don't need large-company or commercial-grade services such as Service Level Agreement management, end-to-end application and business service monitoring, or end user transaction monitoring, ProIT Express is the perfect fit." said Andrew Kramer, VP/Sales for Performance IT in a statement.ProIT Express costs $4,995, and is currently available direct from PerformanceIT as well as through its sales network of Value Added Resellers (VARs), system integrators, hosting companies, and independent consulting firms.
